Those sentiments hold true between pet lovers and their furry friends as well. At JUST DOGS, 3 dogs have captured the employees’ hearts and marked their place at the Nehrunagar store in Ahmedabad.
Siblings Hirva and Kenil have been a part of the JUST DOGS family for a long time, starting off as customers who eventually joined the company later. They felt like JUST DOGS was their second home, and took the opportunity to make it their life. Interacting with pets all day long and helping fellow pet parents is what makes them love their day-to-day work. Many times, pets that come to the store look for their favourite employees, as they consider them as friends. Meeting and caring for new furry friends is what Hirva and Kenil look forward to on a regular basis.
Hirva recalls the days when Kaali, Khujli, and Phattu entered her life, which occurred during the first lockdown due to COVID-19. Each was named after their defining personality trait or feature; Khujli had many itchy skin ailments when she first showed up at the store-front, Phattu was very skittish and nervous, and Kaali is the ‘black beauty’ of the trio. Over time, the dogs made JUST DOGS their home, as they received food, shelter, and lots of affection from employees and customers alike. The JUST DOGS family took care of their well-being, which included medical care. When Kaali had a leg fracture, we were the ones who took her to the veterinary hospital and slowly helped her get back on her feet. The JUST DOGS Foundation kindly took care of the bills. It wasn’t long before Kaali was running around in glee, injury totally healed. The canine trio have adopted the employees as their family and the feelings are mutual. Often days, employees walk into the office with a grin after being greeted by the furry balls of love. Kenil remarks: “The first thing I see every morning when I come to office are these three darlings. Upon seeing them, all the pressures I carry around melt away. Their mere presence relaxes me, and feeding them yogurt at the end of the day gives me a warm feeling in my heart.”
