In conversation with Mr. Krishnanunni AK, Director Growth Office, BluPaws , he delves into the trajectory, services, and plans for the company’s future.

Question– How has the trajectory of your business been so far in the Pet Wellness Industry? What have you learned about the sector?

BluPaws’ early adoption in the pet wellness space has been encouraging and clearly shows that pet parents are seeking more convenient, transparent, and technology-driven ways to care for their pets. We’re seeing strong interest in tele-vet services and on-demand pet care, especially as owners balance busy lifestyles and look for faster access to professional guidance. The growing acceptance of virtual consultations reinforces that pet wellness, much like human healthcare, is moving toward hybrid care models that combine digital access with in-person services.

What this journey has reinforced is that trust and convenience drive adoption. Pet parents expect verified providers, clear credentials, and transparent reviews, while veterinarians and service professionals want tools that simplify scheduling and reduce admin work. Tele-health works best as a gateway for follow-ups, minor concerns, and guidance when integrated with in-clinic care. In a fast-growing yet fragmented market, BluPaws aims to bridge these gaps by offering a unified, user-friendly platform that enhances, not replaces quality pet care.

Question– Scaling a service marketplace is challenging. What were the biggest hurdles in onboarding and retaining service partners like groomers, walkers, and trainers, and how did you address them?

We learned early that marketplace growth isn’t just about adding supply, it is about earning trust, minimizing friction, and delivering clear value to service providers from day one. While scaling BluPaws, the biggest challenges on the supply side were trust, time constraints, and perceived ROI. Many groomers, walkers, and trainers were initially skeptical of new platforms, questioning lead quality, payment reliability, and whether joining would truly grow their business. We addressed this by prioritizing verified profiles, transparent pricing and payouts, and showcasing early partner success stories.

Onboarding and retention required equal focus. Most providers run small businesses and have little tolerance for complexity, so we simplified onboarding, reduced setup steps, and offered hands-on support for early partners. Retention came from consistently proving value, through steady demand generation, fair fees, quick payouts, and tools that saved time in scheduling and client communication. Providers who saw repeat bookings and operational efficiency were far more likely to stay engaged.

Question– What trends do you foresee in the pet wellness market and where do you see it heading 5 years from now?

We see AI and data-driven personalization becoming core to the future of the BluPaws marketplace. Pet owners increasingly view pets as family, which is driving higher spend on wellness, preventive care, and convenience-based services. At the same time, digital adoption, especially tele-vet, remote consultations, and online booking are becoming normalized across pet care.

Another major trend is the shift toward integrated, multi-service platforms. Pet owners don’t want fragmented solutions; they want a single ecosystem that manages care, scheduling, payments, and history across providers. On the supply side, service professionals are seeking technology that helps them operate more efficiently, not just acquire leads.

Five years from now, we see BluPaws evolving into an AI-powered pet wellness operating system. The platform will support hybrid care models, use data to deliver personalized care recommendations, predictive health insights, smart provider matching, and recurring wellness programs. On the supply side, AI will help partners improve utilization, reduce downtime, and grow revenue. With network effects and proprietary data at the core, BluPaws is positioned to become the intelligent infrastructure layer for connecting pet owners and care professionals at scale.

Question- How important do you think educating pet parents is in terms of growing your business and how do you achieve that?

Educating pet parents is critical to growing BluPaws, it directly drives trust, engagement, and long-term retention. When pet owners understand what care options are available, when to use tele-visits versus in-person care, and how preventive wellness impacts outcomes, they make better decisions and engage more frequently with the platform.

From a business standpoint, education lowers friction. It reduces hesitation around booking, increases repeat usage, and expands the range of services pet parents are comfortable using. An informed customer is more confident, more loyal, and more likely to adopt additional services over time.

We approach education in three ways. First, through embedded education at the point of decision, clear guidance during booking, service explanations, and provider recommendations. Second, through content and resources like expert-led articles, FAQs, and care guides that position BluPaws as a trusted authority. Third, through data-driven personalization, where insights from a pet’s profile inform proactive reminders, wellness tips, and relevant service suggestions.

Ultimately, education isn’t a separate function, it is a core growth engine that strengthens trust, increases lifetime value, and differentiates BluPaws in a crowded pet wellness market.

Question– BluPaws emphasizes convenience through app-based booking. What technology or product innovations are you currently building to enhance user experience or expand services?

Convenience is at the core of BluPaws, but our technology roadmap goes well beyond simple bookings. We are focused on reducing friction across the entire care journey, from discovery and selection to service delivery and follow-up, so pet parents experience care that feels seamless, continuous, and personalized rather than transactional.

On the product side, we are building intelligent matching, tele-visit, and communication tools that leverage pet profiles, service history, and preferences to connect users with the most relevant providers. Looking ahead, data- and AI-driven features such as proactive wellness reminders, personalized care recommendations, and subscription-based wellness programs will drive deeper engagement, positioning BluPaws as a scalable, full-stack pet wellness platform rather than just a booking app.

Question–  Do you have any upcoming projects or expansion plans for the future?

BluPaws’ expansion is focused on strengthening the marketplace while scaling intelligently. In the near term, we’re adding new service categories, expanding into high-demand regions, and building AI-driven features such as smarter provider matching, proactive wellness reminders, tele-visits, and recurring wellness programs to drive personalization and engagement.

Alongside product growth, we’re forming strategic partnerships with veterinary groups, shelters, breeders, and pet brands, while exploring B2B tools to support provider operations. Together, these efforts position BluPaws as a scalable pet wellness platform that redefines pet wellness and becomes a trusted operating layer for both pet parents and wellness providers.
