By Anita, Aneesha, Jyoti and Kiran

Anitha, Aneesha, Jyoti, and Kiran have an informal club of pet parents who believe that fashion is not solely for humans. Our fur babies, Sushi the dog and Minu the cat, are not just pets; they are our family, our muses, and, quite frankly, our tiny style icons. We are thrilled to share a peek into our closets and the joy we find in dressing up our four-legged companions.

Meet the Models

Anita & Aneesha: Our partner-in-crime is Sushi, our spunky, tail-wagging girl. Sushi has a personality that fills the room, and she absolutely lives for the spotlight. From the day we got got her, we knew she was a star. The moment we pull out a new bandanna or a little jacket, she does this excited little dance. She knows she’s about to look fabulous, and she soaks up every bit of attention that comes her way.

Jyoti & Kiran:  Our little King is Minu, a gorgeous cat. Now, we know what you might be thinking—a cat in clothes? But Minu is genuinely one-of-a-kind. He has this regal, composed air about him. He doesn’t just wear an outfit; He adorns it. He’s surprisingly patient and seems to enjoy the soft, cozy feel of a new sweater. He will  strike a pose for the camera with a look that says, “Yes, I know. I’m flawless.”

The Ultimate Joy: Twinning is Winning!

Our absolute favorite fashion game? Twinning! There is nothing more fun than co-ordinating our outfits with our pets.

Anita & Aneesha: For us, it is all about our weekend outings. If I am wearing my favorite denim jacket, you can bet Sushi has a matching miniature one. On sunny days, we will do matching floral-print dresses (hers is a lightweight, comfy harness-dress). It is more than just a cute photo-op; it is this visible, adorable thread that connects us. When we walk into a café and people smile, Sushi just wags her tail, soaking it all in.

Jyoti & Kiran: We are a twinning trio! For us, it is often about cozy nights in or festive occasions. During Diwali, we had tiny, lacy collor to match with my Saree. He looked like a tiny member of the royal family. And for movie nights? You have not lived until you have all worn matching flannel pajamas. Seeing Minu curled up in his little pyjamas, looking just like us, is the definition of comfort.

A Wardrobe for All Seasons

We also believe fashion should be functional. Sushi and Minu have wardrobes that are perfectly suited for every kind of weather.

Anita & Aneesha (and Sushi):

Summer: Sushi’s summer look is all about staying cool. She has a collection of breathable cotton tees and cooling bandannas that we soak in water before a walk. They protect her from the harsh sun and keep her comfortable.

Monsoon: This is where we have the most fun! Sushi has a bright yellow raincoat and matching booties. She might not love the booties, but she definitely prances with pride in her raincoat, staying perfectly dry.

Winter: Winter is when Sushi’s inner diva truly emerges. She has a faux-fur-lined parka, several cable-knit sweaters, and even a little fleece-lined hoodie. She looks ready for a ski-trip, even if we’re just walking to the park.

Jyoti & Kiran (and Minu):

Summer: For Minu, summer fashion is minimal. Cats can overheat easily, so we stick to very lightweight, sleeveless cotton vests or just a stylish, decorative (and breakaway!) collar.

Winter: This is Minu’s season! He adores his collection of soft, knitted turtlenecks. He will find the sunniest spot in the house, curl up, and look like a tiny, sophisticated philosopher. The extra warmth keeps her perfectly cozy.

How We Make Fashion Fun and Safe

Dressing up our pets is a joy, but their comfort and safety are always our number one priority. Here are a few things we have learned:

Comfort is Non-Negotiable- This is our golden rule. We always choose soft, breathable, non-restrictive fabrics. We check for anything that could itch, pull, or chafe. If the pet scratches, fidgets, or seems stressed, the outfit comes off. For Minu, we ensure nothing ever obstructs his movement or her ability to groom.

Start Slow and Simple- We did not just put a three-piece suit on them on day one. Anita & Aneesha started Sushi with a simple bandanna. We started Minu with a soft bow-tie collar. We let them get used to the feeling of wearing something, using lots of treats, praise, and cuddles as positive reinforcement.

Accessorize- Sometimes, a full outfit is just too much. On those days, a stylish accessory makes all the difference. A custom name tag, a chic harness, a festive bow, or a snazzy bandanna can complete a “look” without any fuss.

Know Your Pet- Sushi is an extrovert who loves being the center of attention. Minu is a calm dude who enjoys soft textures. We lean into their personalities. We would never force an outfit on them. It is an activity we do with them, not to them.

At the end of the day, the clothes are just fabric. The real magic is in the bond. It is in the shared joy, the extra cuddles, the fun photos, and the way it makes them an even more integral part of our family. It is just another way for us to say, “You are so, so loved.”
