Dog Treats are essential to keep them engaged, stimulated, and happy. However, to avoid the sugar rush and the problems that come from indulging in excessive sweet treats, it is essential to incorporate some healthier options. It will be a great creative and fun task for the pet parent to create healthy yet delicious recipes and as a result, your pet will be happy beyond words. Here are some of the treats you can try at home:

Pancakes For Dogs 

Ingredients: 

1/2 cup of gluten-free flour

1 mashed banana

1/4 cup of peanut butter (xylitol free)

2 eggs

1/4 cup of water

Toppings- Strawberry/Blueberries/Natural Yoghurt/ Chia Seeds

Instructions: 

Add all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix well

Add a splash of vegetable or sunflower oil to a pan and place on a medium heat.

Once the pan is hot, add enough of your mixture to make a pancake and cook for three minutes on each side. Repeat the process for each pancake.

When cooked on both sides, remove the pancakes from the pan, and let it cool.

Pop it on a plate and add your favourite toppings.

Frozen Peanut Butter Dog Treats 

Ingredients

1 cup natural creamy peanut butter

1 cup extra – virgin coconut oil

1/2 cup canned pumpkin

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground turmeric

Instructions 

  1. In a medium microwave- safe bowl, combine peanut butter and coconut oil. Microwave on 100% power for about 30 seconds or until liquefied, stirring once. Add pumpkin, cinnamon, and turmeric ; stir to combine. 
  1. Portion mixture into silicone treat molds or ice cube trays. Freeze at least 4 hours or until firm. 

3.Store, tightly covered, in freezer for up to 1 month. Let treats stand at least 5 minutes before serving to slightly soften.
