Animal welfare is not just about animals. It is about us – our living conditions, our children, our earth. Cruelty to animals has a significant and irreversible impact on human health, economy, and environment.

People For Animals NGO is one of the nation’s largest animal welfare organizations that works for animal welfare cause. It champions the true cause of reducing sufferings of animals and promoting vegetarianism and veganism. It’s pioneer Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, who is a well known activist, environmentalist, and is renowned for her oceanic knowledge for animal and nature rights, has kept the dream enlightened of having harmonious and compassionate world for animals and humans. She keeps sharing her knowledge, experience to every PFA head and animal activist through her work.

We take up the cause for filing animal cruelty cases in police station till they reach court, assist animal feeder with law empowerment, resolve society animal–human conflict issues, conduct animal awareness programs and sensitization sessions as per requests received, coordinate with medical needs of animals as per calls/emails received.

One of our PFA Mumbai board members, Mr. Ganesh Chandan, distributes food to needy animals on every Sunday and assists animal feeders with food, who are financially weak, in Mumbai and suburbs. We daily cater for more than 20 complaints via emails and phone at Mumbai level. We have our legal team of criminal and civil lawyers to issue notices to societies that violate ‘Prevention of Cruelty towards Animals’ Act.

We even coordinate with Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), Municipal Corporation, and local NGOs for conducting vaccinations and sterilization drives for stray animals. Periodically, ‘Right to Information’ applications are filed to keep check on animal related matters. We keep promoting veganism by conducting law awareness sessions via zoom to make more people strong enough to work in this field. Our aim is – every animal activist should be fully empowered to lead PFA army for animal welfare cause.

Under the guidance of our chairperson Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, we learn a lot about psychology, laws, way of working, court judgement copies for animals welfare, and a “never to die” attitude to keep continuing the legacy of PFA head office in Delhi. We want to envision a beautiful compassionate vegan world for animals and our slogan, “A Compassionate World Starts Within You”, encourages every person to make the world a calmer and peaceful place for the happiness of animals.

We respect efforts made by every animal welfare organization as well as individuals, who have contributed in this cause and we are constantly working on building a stronger team. I became a part of this army since COVID time last year in 2020 and my journey from PFA activist to PFA president has been amazing!

We envision a good PFA hospital for animals in Mumbai/suburbs, which would help in relieving pain of every animal, with a shelter home for disabled/needy animals that require extra care. Along with that, we are planning to establish a small rescue and medical help center at every junction to provide timely help to animals. Our sole aim is to resolve all given complaints as per law protocols and bring up a solution that will benefit animals in longer race.

We look forward to your kind support in every sphere that can bring a revolution in this field. We wish to keep increasing our chain of animal lovers in every nook and corner to ensure that there is no cruelty on animals and they receive instant help when needed. We keep posting information, funfacts about animals, veganism, and our work on PFA social media page. For more information about PFA and animals, you can visit our website
