Pets tend to become a part of your family; they even become your children or siblings. Taking care of your pet and thinking of their needs while planning anything in your life, effectively turns you into a pet parent. Jaimin and Alka definitely think so! They are the proud parents of 7 cats, one of which they adopted during pandemic!
Both Alka and Jaimin have loved animals since childhood. Alka states that her mother never went to her friends’ house to look for her; she would always look first where all stray dogs would be, Alka was sure to be there! “I actually got my first cat through a friend, who already had two cats. My friend was going to have children in the house soon, so she asked me to take one cat for myself. The rest is history”. Since then, Jaimin and Alka have had many cats – currently at 7 beautiful cats, they are very pleased with their situation. “Our cats feel like our children. This is exactly what we’ve always wanted!”
Jaimin and Alka have also converted many of their friends into pet parents, for when their pets have had kittens – their friends adopted the furry babies. A total of 28 kittens have been born, and their friends and family members have adopted all of them. “We are one big cat group! Cats are so loving, and not very high-maintenance, so they make for perfect companions”. Alka claims that her house is now ruled by the cats, as there are more felines than humans. Jaimin and Alka have one Indian breed, one Persian cat, and five mixed breeds, all of which are playful and loving. Their Indian breed cat is the queen of the household, as she is the most royal-like and is the bossiest of them all! She also is the most intuitive, as she comforts Alka whenever she feels low.
“It’s been over 11 years, and we still are not planning on having children; as our cats are our babies, why would we need any more? We are completely satisfied as pet parents; we love taking care of them. If there is any happiness, any excitement in this house, it’s because of our darling cats. Once you get a pet, your life shines brighter”. Even if you do have children, growing up with pets in the house changes them. They become more patient, loving, caring, and responsible as they grow up, because they grow up caring for another living being. Pets change you for the better, and mould you into upstanding members of society.
